KHA Advisory BoardWe are pleased to offer the services of the KHA Advisory Board to our clients and supporters. The Board is made up of a diverse group of individuals with intensive experience in a wide variety of matters affecting our clients. The Board will assist KHA and our clients in making strategic decisions, providing technical advice, supporting corporate and project development, and consulting on behalf of our clients as requested. Defense Contracting, Logistics and PolicyGeneral Roy E. Beauchamp most recently served as Senior Vice President for Domestic Operations in the Defense Business Unit of Washington Group International. He managed the U.S. based business operations focused on demilitarizing U.S. chemical weapons stockpiles, Homeland Security, Defense Infrastructure and support to the Department of State and other government agencies. Prior to joining Washington Group International he served in the United States Army for thirty-seven years retiring as a Lieutenant General. He served in a wide variety of positions involving technology management, production management, industrial base management, project management, contract management and logistics management. These jobs included Commanding General, Defense Industrial Supply Center, Defense Logistics Agency, Deputy Chief of Staff for Research, Development and Acquisition, Army Materiel Command, Commanding General, Tank-automotive and Armaments Command, AMC and Director of Logistics and Security Assistance, U.S. Central Command. His last assignment prior to his retirement was Deputy Commanding General of the Army Materiel Command, a $22 billion, 44,000 employee organization supporting the United States Army, worldwide. Maj. General John F. Phillips USAF (Ret.) is the former Deputy Under Secretary of Defense (Logistics and Materiel Readiness). As Deputy he oversaw an organization of 850,000 military and civilian personnel with a budget of $114B where he established an outsourcing and rivatization program for the federal government. He recently left Home Depot as the Vice president of the Government Solutions Group, which he formed. This group launched Home Depot into the federal business, growing to over $100M in the first 12 months of operations. He is now president of the Phillips Defense Consultants. His organization has subject matter experts cross the fields of Defense operations from IT, supply chain management, acquisition to Network Centric Warfare. John brings more than 30 years of comprehensive acquisition, aviation, IT, logistics, and leadership experience to the organization. He served as Vice President of Government Services for Honeywell, where he held several positions of increasing importance since 1997. Prior to joining Honeywell, John served as Deputy Under Secretary of Defense (Logistics) overseeing an organization of 850,000 military and civilian personnel with a budget of $114 billion. In this capacity he established an outsourcing and privatization program for the Federal government. He led the 1994 Quadrennial Defense Review. The recipient of over 250 awards and decorations, John was honored with Vice President Al Gore’s Hammer Award in 1999. John served for more than 27 years in the United States Air Force, retiring with the rank of Major General. His last assignment was Commander, McClellan AFB, California. The military depot was responsible for aircraft, satellites, and microelectronic technology. John earned the highest Department of Defense certifications (Level III) in Program Management, Acquisition Logistics, and Computer Systems Development. He is a fighter pilot with over 3,000 flying hours, 300 of those in combat. John holds a BS degree in biology and chemistry from Jarvis Christian College in Hawkins, Texas, and an MS degree in Logistics Management from the Air Force Institute of Technology. Financing, Investment and Business ManagementBrien F. Morgan’s leadership spans both “Corporate America,” having served as a Lockheed Martin Corporate Senior Vice President in the executive management roles of Global IT Division General Manager and Line of Business President, and “Wall Street,” having served as a Private Fund Manager and Investment Bank Managing Partner. Mr. Morgan’s distinguished career includes over $7.5 Billion in corporate M&A activity and has been featured by business management & leadership author Jackie Bassett in her book, ‘So You Built It And They Didn’t Come. What Now?’. Marketing and Public RelationsBeatriz Helguero has over 14 years of marketing experience with premier brands such as Mercedes, AOL, Nextel and Sprint. Ms. Helguero has managed multi-million dollar advertising, direct marketing, branding and public relations campaigns, as well as, program managed new product releases. She was instrumental in launching both AOL’s and Nextel’s US Hispanic marketing programs. In addition to her marketing experience, Ms. Helguero was the US Hispanic spokesperson for AOL and Nextel and has appeared in numerous English and Spanish TV, radio and print interviews. Ms. Helguero has also served as an advisor to startup companies assisting them in creating their Latin American business and marketing plans. Ms. Helguero is a native Spanish speaker and is originally from Peru. She holds an MBA in Marketing from Fordham University and and BA in Psychology from Florida International University. Metals and Alloys; Business PlanningKenneth F. Evans brings a different prospective to our advisory board through his many years as CEO of Oberdorfer Industries, one of the country’s leading supplier of cast parts to the aerospace, aviation, transportation and utilities markets. Prior to Oberdorfer, Ken was President and CEO of Indium Corporation which fabricates semi precious metals for the electronics market and alloys for the semi conductor industry. Ken is now the managing partner of a company providing consulting services to companies with a focus on business planning and corporate reengineering. State & Local GovernmentHoward E. Duvall Jr. has a B.A. in Political Science from the Citadel and a M.P.A. from the University of South Carolina. He served four years with the U.S. Air Force and three years with the S.C. Air National Guard. In 1974, he was elected to the Cheraw Town Council and in 1980 was elected Mayor. Mr. Duvall became Executive Assistant to Governor Dick Riley in June of 1986. In 1987 he was appointed to the South Carolina Tax Commission. He became the Director of Intergovernmental Relations for the Municipal Association of South Carolina in July of 1987. In November of 1992 he became the Executive Director of the Municipal Association. Mr. Duvall retired from the Municipal Association on September 30, 2008. Global OperationEdward M. Straw is the Executive Vice President of PRTM Management Consultants – a world class, global operations strategy consulting firm. He is the former President, Global Operations of The Estée Lauder Companies Inc, former President, Ryder Integrated Logistics and former SVP, Supply Chain of the Compaq Computer Corporation. Prior to joining the private sector, Mr. Straw had a distinguished 35-year career in the U.S. Navy, retiring as a three-star admiral in 1996. During his military service, Vice Admiral Straw was Chief Executive Officer of the Defense Logistics Agency, the largest military logistics command supporting the American armed forces. In this position, he reported directly to General Colin Powell, Chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff and received two Defense Distinguished Service medals for radical improvement to armed forces readiness and savings to the taxpayer. Admiral Straw holds an MBA from The George Washington University, a Bachelor of Science degree from the U.S. Naval Academy, and is a graduate of the National War College. He currently sits on the boards of: MeadWestvaco, Ply Gem Industries, Panther Expedited Services and is the Chairman of Odyssey Logistics and Document Capture Technologies. He resides with his wife and teenage daughters in New York City and Annapolis Maryland. |
